Week 14 is such an amazing week for you and your baby. It is another milestone for your baby as it develops into a more human form. The eyes are moving closer to each other and ears are almost on its final forms. Hairs are developing on his eyebrows, scalp and other parts of the body.

Aside from his ability to suck his thumb, your baby is now capable of grimacing, squinting and even frowning! He can now make tiny kicks and punches though you may not still be able to feel it. This week, you baby now has fingerprints.

Your baby is about the size of a regular size lemon and is almost 3 ? inches long. As the week ends, the arms have grown into a length which is proportion to the baby's body. However, his legs need to a little more length. His spleen is now helping in the production of red blood cells.

What Can You Expect This Week
Congratulations! Now that you are on your second trimester, your pregnancy is getting more evident. You can now see that little bump on your abdomen. You had surely been through a lot for the past 13 weeks and by now, you should have adjusted with the changes that are taking place in and outside of your body.

Your energy level should have come back and nausea should have become more manageable. In some cases, increased energy level is often accompanied by increased desire to have sex. During this week, the production level of relaxin hormone should be at its peak. As the name implies, relaxin is a special hormone which helps you deal with muscle and joints pain and aches.

Pregnancy aches on the lower portion of your abdomen. It is actually caused by the stretching ligaments and muscles that support the baby. You should take note that during this week, you are more susceptible to colds and flu due to the suppression of the immune system, a mechanism which is beneficial to the growing foetus.
