School?s out, the temperature?s up, and summer's here in Forest Grove.

Not sure how to spend your sunshiny days?

Here?s a listing of some great local events to look forward to in the summer months.

Concours d?Elegance: July 15, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the grounds of Pacific University

Auto enthusiasts, abound!

Forest Grove?s classic car show, Concours d?Elegance, is rolling into town for its 40th year, bringing thousands from all over the northwest to fawn over some of the most prestigious and rarest automobiles in the world.

Over 300 classic, antiques, and special interest cars will be on display. Attendees can also enjoy live music, fine food, a beer garden, as well as a wine pavilion.

This year?s theme: celebrating 60 years of the Mercedes-Benz SL series, roadsters known for their distinctive gull-wing doors. Specifically, the featured marque will be a 1952 Mercedes 300 SL, the same one that championed the 1952 race in Le Mans, France.

The famed auto show has raised more than $1 million for student scholarships and community service projects managed by the Forest Grove Rotary Club.

The Main Course: July 28, 5:30 p.m. at Main Street between Pacific Avenue and 21st Avenue

Eat, drink, and be merry in the classic village tradition!

Turning downtown Forest Grove into an outdoor food festival, the Main Course is where residents come out to celebrate the more delectable aspects of the Willamette Valley.

A four-course dinner, made with food from local farmers, made by local chefs, and paired with wine from local winemakers, begins at 7 p.m. Preceding dinner is a wine tasting, which starts at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until dinner.

Expect live music, hors d?ouerves, and great company throughout the evening. Although wine-drinkers must be 21 and over, everyone is welcome.

Proceeds go to the city's Public Arts Commission for youth art programs.

Cost: $30 for wine tasting, appetizers, and live music. $80 includes everything in addition to a four course dinner paired with wines. For more information, visit www.maincoursedinner.org

Forest Grove Uncorked: August 18, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Main Street.

Experience the very best in wine, food, and microbrews in downtown Forest Grove.

In its fourth year, this outdoor event will feature live music and an abundance of local vendors, showcasing their wines, microbrews, artisan food, and fine art.

Attendees can also enter to win a half wine barrel full of wine wares.

Proceeds from this 21-and-over event go to support the county's Public Safety Chaplaincy Program.

Pacific Rim Festival: August 25, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Sake One, 820 Elm Street.

Indulge in the cuisines and culture of the Pacific shores!

At Sake One brewery, there's fun for the whole family, with entertainment ranging from cooking demonstrations to Hula dancing to traditional Japanese drumming to Hawaiin reggae.

Not to mention a fabulous assortment of Japanese and Hawaiian food, including shoyu chicken, malasadas, shaved ice, poke bowls, paired with Oregon craft beer wine, and sake.

Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival: September 15, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Main Street, between Pacific Avenue and 21st Avenue

A signature event since 1990, the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival is sure to bring explosions of color and exuberance to downtown Forest Grove.

Rain of shine, dozens of people of all ages and artistic skills will purchase a concrete space and are provided trays of sidewalk chalk. This yields a variety of colorful art that lines the sidewalks of Main Street for months.

The event includes music, balloons, puppetry, and musical performances.

Cost: $12 for non-members of Valley Art, $7 for members. For more information, visit www.valleyart.org
