Ferrari chief designer Nick Tombazis to bring forth aggressive car development ? Formula 1 news

The chief designer for the Italian F1team Ferrari has claimed that they will be bringing aggressive development for their car as four races remain in the current season.

Tombazis also admitted that they did not achieve the performance boost they were expecting through the upgrades they had introduced in the car. The team?s driver Fernando Alonso had been leading the drivers? championship with 40 points but fell six points behind Sebastian Vettel of the Red Bull Racing team after he won his third consecutive race. To renew Alonso?s chance in the championship, the team has promised to work hard on the car for next races.

?As we are still in the fight for the championship, we therefore have to continue with the development of the car,? confirmed Tombazis. ?And because we don?t currently enjoy an advantage, either in terms of performance or as far as the points situation is concerned, we cannot defend. We must attack and adopt an aggressive approach to car development for these four races, bringing updates to every one of them to close the gap and fight for the wins and hopefully bring home the titles.?

Alonso has been able to lead the current season?s championship for most part although his car is not as fast as compared to one produced by Red Bull. It is common knowledge that the Red Bull car is the most competitive on the grid at present time. The driver has been competing using his sheer determination not to give up despite the fact that his rival is driving a much stronger car.

The second driver for Ferrari, Felipe Massa, who has just been recently confirmed to stay with the team until next year, also revealed that the team has been dealing with car development problems. He stated that they had some malfunction with their wind tunnel as unexpected results were appearing on the race track not matching with what the wind tunnel was showing. He added that the team was working hard on the development.

Team principal, Stefano Domenicali, has stated that the team might be having difficulties in the development process but he does not want it to be an excuse for failure.
